Flight 5 Nominated for a Harvey Award
July 7, 2009
Flight 5, for which I contributed 36 pages, has been nominated for a Harvey Award in the best anthology category.
The Harvey Awards are one of the comic book industry's oldest and most respected awards. The Harveys recognize outstanding achievements in over 20 categories, ranging from Best Artist to the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame. They are the only industry awards both nominated by and selected by the full body of comic book professionals.
The annual anthology, Flight, is edited by Kazu Kibuishi who also provides the covers for the book.

Xeko Lauches New Website
June 28, 2009
As many of you know, for the past few years, I've been doing a lot of illustrations for the trading card game, Xeko. In addition to the card illustrations, I also designed the components for their original website which lauched a few years ago.
A few months back, they decided to upgrade the website and once again, they asked me to design the various components (navigational bar, buttons, backgrounds, etc). Go check it out.
And for all the Xeko fans out there, you might be interested in checking out my book, Wildlife from the Hot Spots, which collects my best illustrations from the popular game. And as a final note, I'd also like to point out that we still have a few of the long sold-out Madagascar Starter Sets available.
Demon Dog Rabbit on eBay
June 26, 2009
One of my most requested item is without a doubt the Demon Dog Rabbit Statue that Sideshow and I did a few years ago. The sculpture was a big hit and sold out upon release. Whenever I do a signing or a lecture, there's always someone asking if I have one stashed away that I wouldn't mind selling. Well, I don't, but my local comic retailer did. In fact, he just put it on eBay.
The bid is currently $9.99 so this might be a good oportunity to get one at a decent price. Check it out here.
Brett's Tattoo
June 25, 2009
The other day, my good friend Brett called from Iowa to tell me that he was going to get a tattoo of two of my designs that he had cobbled together.
When he sent me an image of what he had done, I almost got sick. I never do tattoos for people (please don't ask) but what he was going to have permanently tattooed on his body was so hideous that I had no choice but to agree to quickly come up with a better design. I fired up my Cintiq tablet and fifteen minutes later, I email him this design which he immediately got tattooed on his lower back.

ZED Pinup from Kean Soo
June 14, 2009
Progress on ZED #10 has been halted once again due to my work with Pixar. I'm not complaining - I'm having a blast working on The Bear and the Bow with my friend Steve Pilcher. But the reality is that ZED is currently on the back seat until I'm done with this current assignment. In the meantime, here is a pinup that my Flight pal, comic book artist/writer extraordinaire, Kean Soo did for me.
Kean just release a new graphic novel continuing the adventures of his character Jellaby. Check it out.
